Man dies a month after car crash near Darwen

It's after a Seat collided with another car and then crashed into a building

A man seriously injured after the car he was in crashed into another car and then a building has died in hospital.

Emergency crews were called to Broken Stone Road in Darwen on 20th December.

They discovered a Seat Ibiza car had been in collision with a Toyota Prius. The Seat then collided with a building and overturned.

The passenger in the Seat Ibiza, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and was in a critical condition in hospital. He has died.

The driver of the Seat Ibiza suffered serious injuries and is still being treated.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Prius both suffered minor injuries.

Sgt Laura Kendall of our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a collision which has very sadly resulted in a man losing his life. First and foremost my thoughts are very much with his family at this incredibly distressing time. They are being supported by specialist officers.

“As we investigate the collision, we want to hear from anyone who witnessed it or was in the area around the time and has dashcam/CCTV footage."
