Man dies after crash in Leigh

Emergency services were called to Wigan Road

A man has died after a car crashed into a building in Leigh, Wigan in the early hours of yesterday morning (7 September).

Emergency services were called to Wigan Road, near the junction with Nel Pan Lane, just after 3am.

It is believed a Nissan travelling eastbound left the road and collided with a building.

The driver, a 39 year old man, was treated by members of the public and paramedics but died from his injuries.

No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now working to find out what led to the crash.

They’re urging anyone with information to get in touch.
