Man dies following car crash in Chorley

Officers now want to speak to any witnesses

A man in his 80s has died after his vehicle left the carriageway and crashed in Chorley. Emergency services were called to Chorley Road in Withnell at around 9.40am yesterday morning (26/03).

The Mitsubishi L500 had veered off the road on a bend, and collided with bushes and trees.

Paramedics gave medical aid at the scene, and took him to the Royal Blackburn Hospital, where he later died.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Anyone with dashcam footage from the area or who saw the collision is asked to contact Lancashire Police on 101, quoting log 0383 of March 26, 2023.
