The baby boy had suffered head injuries
Detectives investigating the death of a six week old baby in Blackpool have charged a man with murder.
Paramedics were called to Wyre Grove in the early hours of Friday, March 10th, where they were treating a six week old baby boy.
He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and then transferred to the Manchester Children’s Hospital, but died five days later.
A Home Office post mortem showed the baby died from head injuries.
David Christie, who's 35, and from Wyre Grove in Blackpool, was first charged with Section 18 wounding but, following the baby’s death and after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, he has been charged with murder.
He'll appear at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wednesday, March 29th).
