Man charged following sexual assault in Darwen
Teenage girl was assaulted in early hours of Sunday
Lancashire Police have charged a man after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Darwen.
It happened when the victim was walking along Bolton Road, close to Ashton Park, at 12.01am on Sunday (June 25).
On Monday Police arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the investigation.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, James White, 39, from Darwen, was last night charged with sexual assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was remanded into custody to appear before Blackburn magistrates this morning.
