Man's body pulled from canal in Wigan

A man's body has been pulled from the canal in Wigan.

Emergency services were called to Chapel Lane bridge during rush hour this morning.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly before 7.40am this morning (Monday 3 February 2020), police were called to Chapel Lane in Wigan to reports of the concern for welfare of a man.

"Emergency services attended and sadly found the body of man."
