Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed of his e-bike in Accrington.

We were called to the Eastgate area of the town just before 5am on Sunday (January 30) to reports of a robbery.

The victim – a man in his 20s – was riding his Hai bike S Duro Hardseven 5.0 when he was approached by two men on an Enduro-style motorbike.

The victim was then punched to the face, before one of the suspects stole his bike.

No arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses and are also keen to hear from anybody who has been or been offered the bike, which has a white frame with blue and orange writing (pictured).

DC Josh Boswell, of East CID, said: “This was a nasty attack which left the victim very shaken. I would ask anybody who has information which could assist our investigation to contact the police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to email 5004@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 0351 of January 30, 2022.
