A man has been arrested following reports of an assault near to a primary school in Preston.
Officers attended the incident on Ribbleton Hall Drive, close to Moor Nook School, at 6:15am this morning (12 March).
A man in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The force says enquires are continuing and a man in his 30s, who was arrested at the scene, is currently in police custody.
They are urging witnesses to come forward.
