Man arrested after bus driver slapped in Warrington

It happened on Friday during what police are describing as a 'road rage incident'

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a bus driver was slapped in Warrington

At around 6.30pm on Friday 5 April, a bus driver came to a stop along Newhaven Road, when the driver of a black Ford pulled up alongside him.

The driver of the Ford exited his vehicle and got on the bus. He then slapped the bus driver across the face before going back to his car and driving off.

A 31-year-old man, has since been arrested on suspicion of assault.

He remains in custody at this time and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
