Lytham St Anne's is the happiest place in the northwest

Preston, Manchester and Liverpool are included in the top 20.

According to a recent survey by property website Rightmove Lytham St Anne's has been rated as the happiest place in the northwest of England.

It was also ranked fifth happiest in Great Britain.

Almost 24,000 people took part in the survey which asked residents about 12 factors in their local area. These factors included how friendly their neighbours are to how good the local services are, the full list is included below.

Other towns and cities in Lancashire included in the regional list are Lancaster (5), Preston (14) and Chorley (15) with Manchester and Liverpool being ranked at 17 and 18 respectively.
