Leyland man charged in connection with fatal Whitestake collision

A man's been charged with causing the death of a pedestrian by dangerous driving near Preston last summer.

35-year old Nick Farrimond from Bamber Bridge died after he was hit by a car on Pope Lane in Whitestake in August last year.

Officers were called to reports of a Peugeot car found nearby on its side in a field. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have also charged 32-year old Leo McCarthy of Robin Hey, Leyland with driving whilst unfit through drink and drugs.

McCarthy has been bailed to appear at Preston Magistrates Court on Thursday, March 30th.
