Police officers will be providing a high-visibility presence for the upcoming Lytham Festival event this week.

Running over five nights, officers will be joined by specialist teams to ensure safety for all visitors coming to the Fylde Coast.

Superintendent Chris Hardy said: “As always, we are well-prepared and looking forward to another fantastic event. We are expecting large crowds over the five nights, so we are utilising our many different teams within the Constabulary.

“We have been working closely with event organisers Cuffe & Taylor, local authority, and all key partners to ensure a safe event for everyone to enjoy.

“If you haven’t done so already I would encourage people to make themselves familiar with all the information available on the Lytham Festival website, where you can find detailed guidance around travel, road closures and accessibility.”

Flight restrictions affecting drones will be imposed above Lytham Festival between Wednesday 28th June from 16:00 to Sunday 2nd July at 23:59 as part of the policing operation during the event.

Superintendent Chris Hardy added: “Our policing plans for Lytham Festival take land, sea and air into consideration and these airspace restrictions, just like other security measures such as road closures, are aimed at keeping people safe.

“Our ask is that people adhere to these regulations, or your equipment may be seized and confiscated.”

If you wish to fly a drone in the restricted areas, you must obtain permission from Lancashire Constabulary by contacting DroneExemptions@lancashire.police.uk.
