Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner meets with Prime Minister
It follows the announcement of the government's new 'Beating Crime Plan'
Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner, Andrew Snowden, attended a meeting today with the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson and Home Secretary Priti Patel following the government's newly announced 'Beating Crime Plan'.
In the meeting, which took place at 10 Downing St, Andrew raised a number of issues, including cracking down on antisocial behaviour, tackling county lines gangs and ensuring Lancashire Constabulary has the resources and powers needed to deal with criminal behaviour.
Speaking after the meeting, Andrew Snowden said "It's been fantastic today to meet the Prime Minister and Home Secretary to discuss how we implement the newly launched Beating Crime Plan here in Lancashire so that we can cut crime and make our streets safer.
"The government is committed to giving the police the tools and backing needed to get a grip on the low-level crime that has a high impact on people's lives across the county. This plan puts neighbourhood policing front and centre of any response to crime and antisocial behaviour in Lancashire, something that will be reflected in my Police and Crime Plan.
"As Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner, I was elected to deliver on my promises of reducing crime and making sure that those who commit criminal acts in our county are met with the full force of the law.
"I will work with the government and Lancashire Constabulary to ensure that the Beating Crime Plan does just that, so that Lancashire residents can be confident in their police force's response to the issues which affect them on a daily basis."
