Lancashire Police are investigating the unexplained death of a 16-year old girl in Darwen.

Lancashire Police are investigating the unexplained death of a 16-year old girl in Darwen.

Sky Nichols was found unconscious last night - it's believed she had taken a quantity of drugs earlier that evening.

Police were called to a property on Greenway Street at around 6.45pm on Wednesday night where they found the teenager unconscious.

She later died at the Royal Blackburn Hospital after suffering from a suspected cardiac arrest.

Lancashire Police say they believe Sky had taken a quantity of drugs but say it's too early to determine whether that was linked to her death, which is being treated as unexplained.

A post-mortem's yet to take place.

A 16-year old girl from Darwen has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of ecstacy.

A 46-year old woman, also from Darwen, has been arrested on suspicion of obstructing the course of justice

A 16-year-old girl from Darwen, who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of ecstasy has been bailed until the 20th May. A 46-year-old woman from Darwen was arrested on suspicion of obstructing the course of justice.

She was released no charge. The 46-year-old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of two offences of possessing a class B drug, of possession with intent to supply a class B drug and of possessing ecstasy with intent to supply. She has been bailed until 20th May. A 15-year-old boy from Bolton was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of ecstasy - he's been bailed until 20th May.
