Lancashire County Council's Deputy Leader writes to PM over proposed funding cuts

The Deputy Leader of Lancashire County Council has written a letter to the Prime Minister calling him to re-consider proposed cuts to the authority's budget.

The Deputy Leader of Lancashire County Council has written a letter to the Prime Minister calling him to re-consider proposed cuts to the authority's budget.

262 million pounds need to be saved over the next five years, £65m of that needs to be saved in the next two years.

Lancashire County Councillor David Borrow has written to David Cameron asking for him to re-consider the funding formula for local authorities' budgets.

The government are due to vote on the cuts on Monday 8th February.

Lancashire County Council's Cabinet will vote on where the cuts will be made and which services will be reduced or scrapped at a meeting on Thursday 11th February.

Mr Borrow has also written to all the MPs in Lancashire, asking them to lobby the government over the funding cuts.
