It's RESULTS DAY for hundreds of A-Level students across Lancashire
They're being given assessed grades by teachers after exams had to be cancelled
After two years of disrupted education thousands of students across the country find out their A-Level results this morning.
Students will get teacher assessed grades rather than the the controversial ‘algorithms’ used to figure out their results last year.
It's after exams were cancelled due to the pandemic.
One of those students hoping for good news is Amy Shuttleworth who goes to Blackpool Sixth Form College.
The 18-year-old is hoping for two As and a B so she can study Criminology at Durham University, she said: "I think A-Levels are big exams because they determine which university you're going to get into, and it's so strange because you open it and it's a sign of relief but fingers crossed it all goes well...I think I'll be in floods of tears if it does, they'll be happy tears.
"It's a mixture of emotions, it's nerves, excitement, looking forward to the relief of it. It's been a difficult year for everyone in the same position whether it's A-Levels or GCSEs so it'll be a big relief when we finally get to open that email see that piece of paper with all the grades on and hopefully move forward with our education.
"We've done the best that we could in a bad situation, all the staff at the college have been amazing.
"A lot of students have struggled with their mental health but for me personally I've just persevered and and taken every assessment, test, any little thing in class to hopefully add up in the bigger picture which hopefully should pay off on results day."
