Dozens of firefighters have spent the night putting out the blaze on Empress Drive - a number of roads were closed off.
Five fire engines from across Lancashire were called to the two-storey house on Empress Drive at 11.10pm on Thursday night.
Firefighters have extinguished the fire and are expected to be dampening down throughout Friday.
Noone was injured in the blaze.
