Investigation after man sustains serious injuries in Blackpool assault
Lancashire Police say they've also stepped up patrols in the area
An investigation is underway after a man suffered serious injuries in an assault in Blackpool.
The victim - in his 50s - was attacked outside Shores Hotel on Tyldesley Road, at around 1am yesterday morning.
He's currently receiving treatment in hospital, including for "serious head injuries".
In a statement, Lancashire Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a man was assaulted in Blackpool and suffered serious injuries.
"It happened outside the Shores Hotel, Tyldesley Road, at around 1am today.
"A man in his 50s suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
"You will see an increased police presence in the area today as we investigate the assault and provide reassurance."
