Investigation launched following Oswaldtwistle stabbing

Police laucnch appeal to find man who stabbed a 21year old male in the back in Oswaldwistle.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Oswaldwistle.

On Saturday a 21 year old man was stabbed on Water’s Street. The incident occurred at around 11pm, after an argument broke out between the man and the attacker possibly known as ‘Mick’ or ‘Micky.’

DS Melissa Kelly, of Blackburn CID said, “The victim remains in Blackpool Victoria Hospital at this time in a stable condition having suffered a puncture wound to his lung.

After the pair argued the victim was stabbed once in the back by the assailant who fled from the scene. Witnesses have described the attacker as being white male with facial hair who was wearing a grey tracksuit.

DS Kelly added, “We are working to identify the man responsible for this and we need anyone with information that could help us to come forward. If you are able to help us with our investigation, please call us on 101 quoting crime number ED1617764.”
