An investigation is underway after a number of vehicles caught fire in Thornton-Clevleys.

Lancashire Police believe they were started deliberately, and are now appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Emergency services were called just after 7.30am yesterday to a report of vehicle fires involving two cars and a van on Lyddesdale Avenue and the nearby Luton Road.

Nobody was injured.

Inspector Andrew Crook of West Investigations Team said: “We’re at the early stages of our enquiries, so I’d ask anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant they think it may be, to make contact with us and let us know”.

Anyone with any information can contact Lancashire Police on 101.
