Firefighters are battling a huge fire at a tractor workshop in West Lancashire.

The blaze broke out at the yard on Taylor's Lane this morning.

Eight fire engines are at the scene and a huge cordon's been placed around the premises over fears there cold be gas cyclinders inside.

Crews initially feared there were people trapped inside but the building's since been given the all clear.

At least 15 homes have been evacuated as a precaution.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue's Area Manager Mark Hutton told us:

"We’re getting it under control and people will be allowed back into their homes in the next couple of hours."

There is a warning to drivers in the area to take care due to horses in the road on Lancaster Road.
