Huge cannabis farm uncovered in disused Rossendale warehouse

Around 500 cannabis plants were found inside the building

An investigation is underway after a huge cannabis farm was found in a disused factory in Rossendale.

Police officers saw two men running from the premesis on Bacup Road last night. A search of the building later uncovered 500 cannabis plants.

Anyone with information is being asked to come forward.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were contacted by a concerned member of the public yesterday (Tuesday 13 July) at around 9:40am, reporting a possible cannabis set up at a disused factory on Bacup Road, Rossendale.

"Officers attended and saw two men running off from the premises. A search of the premises revealed an estimated 500 mature plants.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident reference 386 of July 13th."
