Man arrested following 15-hour standoff with police in Fleetwood
The man was arrested on suspicion of - among other things - threats to kill
Police in Lancashire have arrested a man following the end of a 15-hour long standoff in Fleetwood.
Officers were alerted to an incident taking place on the roof of a property on Windsor Terrace in Fleetwood just before midnight on Sunday evening (April 20th).
Reports suggested that there had been a police presence in the area for hours, which Lancashire Police confirmed.
The force confirmed that after 15 hours on the roof, the man had come down from the roof following negotiations with officers.
In a statement, Lancashire Police said: "Police attended the scene and after negotiations the man came down at about 3.30pm yesterday (Monday, April 21st)."
Officers added that a 33-year-old man from the Fleetwood area was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of a number of offences.
According to the force, the man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, affray, threats to kill, stalking, harassment, possession of an offensive weapon and assault.
The man currently remains in custody as Lancashire Police carry out their own enquiries.
