Firefighters are dealing with a blaze at The Cobblers Inn on New Hall Hey Road in Rossendale.

Six fire engines, including one from Greater Manchester, were sent to the scene this afternoon (12 February).

People who live nearby are being asked to close their doors and windows because of a large smoke plume.

Several roads have been closed while the fire is dealt with.

Rossendale Police said:

"Please try and avoid the roads around the Cobblers Inn on New Hall Hey Road due to an ongoing fire incident.

"We have had to close a number of roads and need to keep traffic to a minimum to ensure that LFRS can get equipment in and out as fast as possible."
