Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a derelict building overnight

An investigation has launched into the cause of a huge blaze at a derelict building in Blackpool.

The service were called to near the North Promenade at 17:38 yesterday evening (27 January), at its height eight fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms were at the scene.

Crews remain on Wilton Parade this morning (28 January) and say the fire is under control.

They have warned some local roads will remain closed whilst enquiries continue.

Emergency services are also urging people close to the incident to keep windows and doors shut.
