In the early hours of this morning (May 20), fire crews from Preston, Bamber Bridge, and an aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn responded to a fire at a derelict mill on Kittlingbourne Brow, in Higher Walton.

The blaze, which broke out on the building’s first floor, was tackled using two hose reels. Firefighters rescued two people and three dogs from the property.

Crews remain at the scene to ensure the area is safe.
