The family of a 74-year-old man who died after a crash in Burnley say he'll be greatly missed.

Harry Boothby from Padiham was driving a Volkswagen Passat that collided with a Mercedes Vito van in Higher Shuttleworth at around 7:40pm on Saturday 29 October.

The driver of the Mercedes has suffered serious injuries - they're not thought to be life-threatening.

Mr. Boothby's family have thanked the emergency services and the witnesses that stopped to help their dad.

"We would also like to thank the police liaison officer who has given us support through this difficult time.

"Thank you for all the support from our friends and extended families.

"We are devastated as a family, and he will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren."

Police are still appealing for anyone who saw the crash, including those with dashcam footage, to come forward.

Sgt Michael Higginson, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said:

"These are tragic circumstances and our thoughts and prayers are very much with Mr Boothby’s family at this difficult time.

"We are continuing to appeal for witnesses, in particularly anyone with dashboard mounted camera footage, which could assist our enquiries.

"If you can help please come forward."

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting log 1154 of 29 October.
