Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman suffered serious injuries in a collision in Leyland.
Officers were called at 7.06am yesterday (10January) to the junction of Dunkirk Lane and Paradise Lane.
A Mercedes A200 car had been in collision with a pedestrian – a woman in her late 80s.
She suffered serious pelvic, shoulder and spinal injuries, and is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
The driver of the Mercedes stopped at the scene and was unhurt.
Sgt Paul McCurrie from Lancashire Police said: “My thoughts are very much with the woman as she undergoes treatment and care in hospital.
“As we investigate the collision, we are asking anyone who witnessed it or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to speak to us.
“It happened quite early in the morning but there will have been people around at that time.”
