Drug dealer who 'dangerously reversed' away from police in Blackburn jailed
Ali Zaman was spotted driving a black BMW 'suspiciously'
A teenager who 'dangerously reversed away' from police in Lancashire has been sentenced to over 3 years in prison.
Ali Zaman was spotted driving a black BMW 'suspiciously' on Pringle Street in Blackburn at the start of this year (28 January).
When an officer has attempted to speak to the driver of the car – which transpired to be Zaman – he has dangerously reversed away from officers.
Only minutes later, officers found Zaman on Queens Park Road where he attempted to run away. However, he was arrested and found to be in possession of £320 cash, a BMW car key and some house keys.
It was then that the force found wraps of heroin, crack cocaine and a large sum of cash in his car.
During a search of Zaman’s house in Hermitage Street, Rishton, we found weighing scale and a bag containing powder used as a bulking agent for crack cocaine.
His phone also contained messages linked to drug-dealing.
Zaman, of Hermitage Street, Rishton, was charged with possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine, and dangerous driving.
DC Dan Burton, from our East Targeted Crime Team, said: “Zaman’s behaviour was unacceptable.
“Thanks to information from the community, targeted crime team officers have managed to take this drug dealer off the streets of Blackburn. If you have information about drug-dealing in your area pass it onto the police, confident that we will take the appropriate action.”
