Drivers can expect delays on M65
Roadworks to start in the summer at Junction 6
Driver face major traffic disruption this summer when roadworks at a busy motorway entrance and exit take place.
Lancashire County Council is planning to resurface the Whitebirk Roundabout leading to Junction 6 of the M65.
Its engineers will also replace the road markings and upgrade drainage.
The £272,000 project is likely to take several weeks.
The last major upgrade of the roundabout in 2007/8 took three months with drivers complaining of ‘chaos’ stretching back into the nearby Red Lion roundabout and Blackburn ring road.
Oswaldtwistle county councillor Peter Britcliffe said: “There will be major traffic disruption but it will be worth it in the end.”
