Lancashire Police have been given more time to question a man on suspicion of murder, after another man was found dead at an address in Blackburn.

50 year old David Read was found with multiple injuries at an address on Leamington Road at 11.38 on the 7th June.

On Friday evening detectives arrested a 34 year old man from Blackburn on suspicion of murder.

Officers have now been granted a warrant of further detention, which gives them more time to question him.

Det Chief Insp Mark Haworth-Oates, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: ““I have a dedicated team of detectives and staff working on this inquiry and our investigation is very much ongoing.

"I would continue to appeal to anyone who thinks they may be able to help us to get in touch, especially anybody who knew David, and particularly if they have had contact with him in recent days.

Lancashire Police also want anyone who saw anything suspicious to contact them on 101, quoting log 653 of June 7, 2023.
