25-year old Luke Rhoden was tackled by police after he fell two storeys from his hotel balcony in 2014.
A jury at his inquest found that officers pressed a baton against his neck and asphyxiated him, using "excessive force" to restrain him which led to his death. They also ruled that an adverse effect to drugs also led to his death.
The jury recorded a narrative verdict at Bolton Coroner's Court and couldn't establish an exact cause of death as there's not enough forensic evidence avaliable.
The court heard that the Spanish Police are aware of the proceedings here in the UK but have decided not to give any evidence.
