Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a cyclist suffered critical injuries following a road traffic collision in Hoghton.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was found unresponsive in Gregson Lane at 12.20am today (June 29). It is believed he collided with a stationary van before coming off his bike.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with a serious head injury, where he remains in a critical condition.

Sgt Daniel Gunn, of our Roads Policing Unit, said: “This collision has left a man with critical injuries and my thoughts are with him at this time.

“We’re working to establish the full circumstances of what caused the collision and I would ask any witnesses or anybody with dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist our investigation to get in contact with us.” Hear all the latest news from across the UK on the hour, every hour, on Greatest Hits Radio on DAB, smartspeaker, at greatesthitsradio.co.uk, and on the Rayo app.
