Shop workers 'extremely shaken' after armed robbery at store in Chorley

Police have released CCTV images of the men they'd like to speak to in connection with the incident

Two shop workers have been left 'extremely shaken' after an armed robbery in Chorley.

Two men armed with hammers reportedly threatened two members of staff at the Spar on Wood lane on Wednesday evening at around 9pm (1st December).

They stole cash and cigarettes and officer believe they fled the scene in a blue vehicle.

Both offenders are described as white, in their early 20s, of medium build and were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing. They spoke with northern accents.

The staff members weren't injured during the robbery but have been left extremely shocked and shaken.

In a statement, Chorley police say:

"We are asking anyone who thinks they may know who the people in the CCTV images are or who may have been in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, in particular a blue vehicle, to contact us on 101 quoting log number 1373 of 1st December 2021 or email 2368@lancashire.police.uk.

"Similarly, anyone who has dash cam or CCTV footage can submit it to us here.

"You can report information to us.

"Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted in confidence on 0800 555111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org."
