Blackpool out of EFL Trophy after defeat to Peterborough

The Seasiders drop out after they slumped to a 3-0 defeat

Blackpool are out of the EFL Trophy after being beaten in the semi final by Peterborough.

The Seasiders couldn’t repeat their victory at the weekend against The Posh.

Both sides set up well and played a close fought game but a first half strike from Malik Mothersille and a late penalty given by referee Lewis Smith, converted expertly by Harrison Burrows put game out of reach.

An injury time strike by Burrows put any hope of a comeback to bed.

The 0-3 defeat sees The Tangerines drop out of the EFL Trophy at the penultimate hurdle, and miss out on a trip to Wembley.
