An 18-year-old has been charged after a report of someone carrying what looked like a gun in Blackpool.

Police were made aware on Monday lunchtime and armed officers were sent to the West Park Drive area.

No-one with any weapons were found, though.

CCTV was then released as officers tried to track the man with the weapon down.

An arrest was made a short time later and 18-year-old Locklan Marsden-Price, of Watson Road, Blackpool, has been charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Police have since confirmed that the weapon was an imitation firearm and that no-one was hurt.

The force says anyone carrying the likes of BB guns in public, loaded or not and without a reasonable excuse, is committing a criminal offence.
