Fire crews called to Blackpool this morning

Residents were being told to keep their windows and doors shut

Fire crews were called to a fire on Squires Gate Lane in Blackpool this morning.

Eight fire engines arrived at around 5.30am to a commercial building to tackle the blaze.

The fire is now out but Lancashire Fire and Rescue remain on the scene.

In a statement this morning, the fire service said:

"At 05:24 on 22nd April, eight fire engines with an aerial ladder platform attended a commercial building fire on Squires Gate Lane, Blackpool.

"The fire involved the interior of a warehouse approximately 90x100m in size.

"Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one hose reel jet to combat the fire."
