Blackpool's Air Show dates confirmed for next year
The event has been cancelled for the past two years because of COVID
Blackpool’s annual Air Show will take place next year over the weekend of August 13 and 14, it was confirmed today.
The free event, which attracts up to 100,000 visitors, has been cancelled for the past two years because of COVID restrictions on mass gatherings.
But VisitBlackpool has announced that the show will return for 2022 with some of the world’s finest military and civilian aircraft performing over the iconic seafront.
To complement the aerial programme, there will be plenty to see and do on the ground with a wide range of stalls, attractions and food concessions in the Air Show Village on the Tower Festival Headland.
A VisitBlackpool spokesperson said: “The Blackpool Air Show is always one of the highlights of the summer and we have been keen to get the 2022 dates in the calendar as soon as possible so that visitors can book ahead.
“After almost two years of disruption to our major events programme, we are confident that 2022 will see a return to a full programme of our traditional events, with some exciting new ones to be announced in the months ahead.”
Further details of the air show programme will be released in the early part of next year.
