Blackburn have announced the signing of Norway international midfielder Sondre Tronstad.
He joins the club on a free transfer from Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem, with the midfielder signing a contract until 2026.
The Norwegian began his career in his homeland with IK Start, making his first team debut in May 2012, aged just 16.
Having helped Start win promotion to Norway’s top division and after making 23 appearances for the south-coast club, Tronstad joined Huddersfield Town in January 2014, aged 18, following a successful trial.
He returned to Norway in 2016, joining FK Haugesund, where he made over 100 appearances and played in two Europa League campaigns, before earning a move to Vitesse in January 2020.
He will officially become a Blackburn Rovers player on July 1st, subject to him receiving a Governing Body Endorsement and international clearance.
