Blackburn man jailed for glass and bottle attacks
Adam Perry was jailed for 7 years and 9 months
A Blackburn man has today been jailed for 7 years and 9 months after he attacked a woman with a glass and a man with a bottle, in two separate incidents.
In January 2022, Adam Perry's actions resulted in a woman losing eight teeth, and this year he severed the artery of a young man.
In the early hours of Sunday, January 9, 2022, Perry’s victim was innocently dancing at a bar in Blackburn with her friends. It was then that Perry’s attention is drawn to an unknown man, with the pair repeatedly, purposely bumping into each other a number of times.
In this moment, Perry threw a glass at the unknown man, missing him and instead hitting the victim. She had no opportunity to avoid the flying glass.
Having inflicted serious injuries to the woman, he then went outside, and after being evicted from the pub, he pretended to comfort her. Once the police arrived, he ran from the scene.
Perry, 24, of Honey Hole, Blackburn, was arrested later that afternoon.
In a separate incident in May of 2023, Perry severed the artery of, and caused major blood loss to a 21-year-old man.
Following an argument, Perry approached the victim from behind, and hit him over the head with a Dissaronno-style bottle.
Almost a year and a half after the first attack, Perry pleaded guilty to Section 18 wounding for the first incident and pleaded guilty to Section 20 wounding for the second. He was sentenced to six years for the first offence, and 21 months for the second. The Judge ordered them to be served consecutively, totalling seven years and nine months.
