A drug dealer who crashed his car into a tree while trying to flee police in Bamber Bridge has been jailed for more than five years.

22-year-old Spencer Darer-Conroy was spotted driving suspiciously on Station Road on Saturday 2nd August.

When officers asked him to stop, he sped off before smashing into a barrier and a tree on Loom Crescent and attempting to run away.

He was caught and arrested nearby.

A search of a property uncovered 40 wraps of Class A and Class B drugs, around £2000 in cash, and several mobile phones.

Darer-Conroy, of Langden Crescent, admitted a string of offences at Preston Crown Court and has now been sentenced to five years and seven months behind bars.

The case formed part of Operation Warrior - Lancashire Police’s crackdown on organised crime, which targets drugs supply, violence, exploitation and fraud.
