26 arrests made at protest outside Lancaster Castle

Demonstrators detained on suspicion of supporting banned organisation

Police made 26 arrests during a protest outside Lancaster Castle.

The protest, held at 1pm yesterday (29th November), was part of the Defend Our Juries – Lift the Ban on Palestine Action campaign and coincided with similar demonstrations at various locations across the UK.

During the protest, some attendees displayed material in support of Palestine Action, which has been designated as a proscribed terrorist organisation.

The arrests included 16 women and 10 men, all detained on suspicion of supporting a proscribed organisation under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Those arrested are currently in police custody.
