How long can you last?

Liverpool Small Cinema will be holding a Groundhog Day marathon on the 'celebrated' day itself 2nd February.

Starting at 6am the cinema will be showing the classic Bill Murray film every two hours for a full 24 hours for those who can last that long.

The cinema is encouraging people to come for as long as they like with those opting for the 'Whole Hog' (all day) getting a sandwich, a cup of tea and a souvenir ticket for just £10.

The 1993 film is named after the American tradition of Groundhog Day which takes place on the 2nd February every year. As legend has it if a groundhog sees its shadow on this day winter will persist for six weeks, however if there is no shadow then spring will come early.

Bill Murray plays an arrogant weatherman reporting on the Groundhog Day forecast who finds himself repeating the same doomed day endlessly in the small town of Punxsutawney where the tradition originated from.
