18-year-old cyclist dies after crashing into wall in East Lancashire

His family are being supported by specialist officers.

An 18-year-old cyclist has died after crashing into a wall at speed in Nelson.

It happened on Southfield Street at 8pm on Tuesday 8th June. The teenager suffered 'significant head injuries' as a result, and was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital.

The man passed away in hospital yesterday (June 9).

A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: "His family have been informed and are being supported by officers.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and a file will be passed to HM Coroner in due course."
