A 16-year old girl has been found not guilty of supplying a Lancashire teenager with the drugs that led to her death.

The youngster - who can't be named for legal reasons - denied supplying ecstasy to 17-year old Sky Nicol who later died from an overdose.

The teenager sobbed in Preston Crown Court as a jury delivered a majority verdict of not guilty after 6 hours of deliberations.

The trial heard from two men - who claim they saw the 16-year old pass a bag of drugs to Sky and watched her take them in an e-cigarette shop in March last year.

The teenager denied this - claiming Sky had got the drugs - which caused her to have a heart attack - from someone else.

An inquest last year found Sky died from a "lethal cocktail" of drugs later that night.

The judge said this case is a lesson to everybody about the dangers of taking drugs.
