The Dancing On Ice launch show could be affected by the UK's latest storm, Storm Eleanor, as Good Morning Britain weatherman and Dancing On Ice contestant Alex Beresford explained recently.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain the weather presenter admitted that the studio had been damaged so much that you could see the sky through a hole in the studio.

Storm Eleanor hit the UK earlier this week with winds up to 100mph and caused damage across the country. Alex, who was revealed as a contestant on the show in November, said the tradesmen were working against the clock to get the studio ready for the launch show this weekend. He told his co-presenters, "During Storm Eleanor the side of the studio actually came off and went I got to the studio yesterday, if you looked up you could actually see the sky."

When he was asked if the hole was still there he said, "yes" continuing, "so hopefully when we go there today for rehearsal they'll have fixed it, and we'll be OK for Sunday."

Alex is just one of 12 contestants in the new series of Dancing On Ice which will return to our TV screens after a four year break.

Last month former England cricketer Monty Panesar was forced to quit the show after sustaining an injury, with 'If There's Any Justice' singer Lemar brought in as a replacement.

Earlier this week heat magazine had an exclusive interview with Love Island's Kem Cetinay who will also be trying his luck on the ice rink. Speaking to heat Kem revealed his biggest fears about appearing on the show.

"I’m worried about the lifts," he admitted, "All the other blokes are way over six foot, but when I pick up Alex, my professional skating partner, she’s still in front of my face. I’m only 5ft 10!"

However he admitted he is taking his appearance on the show very seriously and is even practising in the middle of the night saying, "My mum keeps hearing these thuds at about 4am, so comes into my room and I’m up and doing stretches and lunges in my sleep."

Dancing On Ice starts this weekend on ITV and you can read the full interview with Kem in this week’s heat magazine on sale now.
