Katy was a bright, beautiful little girl who sadly lost her life to a brain tumour.

We were honoured to help Katy’s family initially with fundraising to try and help Katy and after she sadly passed away to create a legacy in her name. Cash for Kids held the monies that had been donated to help Katy in trust until Paula and Dave, Katy’s parents, decided what they wanted to create in Katy’s name.

They found that there is very little research into paediatric brain tumours and decided that is what they wanted to fund to try and stop this happening to anyone else’s children in the future. We introduced them to our friends at Farley’s Solicitors who helped them with setting up a charity in Katy’s name, The Katy Holmes Trust, and we granted the trust £36,350 to start off their charity.

We have watched as they have gone from strength to strength and have now raised over £600,000 and are funding a three year research project into paediatric brain tumours. They have been to Downing Street to raise the issues that they faced and Paula has won a very deserved Inspirational Woman award.

We are so proud of them all and we know they will be our friends for life.
