In what is perhaps the best news of 2019 so far (after Greggs releasing a vegan sausage roll of course), The Chase star Paul Sinha has announced his engagement!

Paul, who famously spoke about his sexuality on the popular quiz show two years ago, announced his happy news on Twitter, writing, 'I proposed today. He said yes. Thus starts yet another diet.' sic

Fans of the show were quick to congratulate Paul, with a number using references from The Chase. One fan wrote, 'For you the chase is over... 😂😂😂', with another adding, 'Congratulations! He took the higher offer, then x'. sic

Another added, 'Congratulations Paul - very happy for you! No diet required - you looked great when I saw you a couple of weeks ago! Wishing you all the happiness in the world x'. sic

Although most of the quiz masters on The Chase keep their personal lives to themselves. Paul has previously opened up, telling GuysLikeU, "I am happy with a boyfriend. We are in an open relationship, but can’t say more than that. One of the advantages of being gay is that there is no traditional template for how you are meant to engage with your partner.

"Hetero relationships are supposedly based on the idea of procreation and offering a loving environment for your children, therefore by definition would mean monogamy. Being gay we can make our own template that works for us."

Paul, who is also known by his nickname 'The Sinnerman', joined the popular ITV show with Bradley Walsh back in 2011, with his first episode broadcasting in September.

Congratulations to Paul on his engagement! 💍
