Sir Elton John's mum dies suddenly and leaves him 'in shock'
Very sad news
Sir Elton John has announced to his social media followers the very sad news, that his mum has passed away suddenly. In an Instagram post Sir Elton said he had only seen his mum a week before and her passing had been a shock.
The caption accompanying a photo of Elton and his mum said, 'So sad to say that my mother passed away this morning. I only saw her last Monday and I am in shock. Travel safe Mum. Thank-you for everything. I will miss you so much. Love, Elton'.
Messages of condolence have been coming in from around the world, with one user commenting, 'I lost my Dad over twelve years ago when I was 36. It’s never something you get over, you just learn to get around it.' Another said, 'Lovely pic. Sorry for your loss. Heaven is a lucky place.'
Elton and his mum Sheila fell out back in 2008, but last year they reconciled and in an interview with The Mirror Sir Elton said, "Out of respect for my mother’s privacy, I have always shied away from speaking publicly about our relationship. However, I can say that we are now back in touch and have been so since my mother’s 90th birthday."
The 'Step Into Christmas' singer then publicly showed his love for his mum in an Instagram post on the American Mother's Day saying 'Dear Mum,
