A woman has died after a house exploded in Kent yesterday.

It happened in Canterbury Road, Charing, at around 11:41am.

Five fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended the scene, with a spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service telling Greatest Hits Radio the house totally collapsed.

During the incident a dog living at the property walked out to fire fighters from the rubble, and has since been checked over by a vet.

Canterbury Road has now been reopened and the investigation into the cause of the explosion continues.
